  my son (5yr old/kindergarten) is competing in his first spelling bee at school tomorrow against the 2nd grade class. They won't let him compete in higher grades until he can show he can handle the 2nd graders. But he knows how to spell many/most of the word from last years Scripps Spelling Bee he got to go to see in person (he's been Bee obsessed for years now)
