Maybe picking Rashomon wasn't a brilliant theme straight out of the gates. How many people do you think lost interest because they had no idea what Rashomon was (like me )?
If I had more time than this critique I would have taken a stab at... maybe work on something as I watch the movie - kind of a necessary thing to do if you want your idea to have any kind of RELEVANCY to the fact that the exercise is about the movie. But then I read that the Assignment is not about the movie, so maybe it's about the Rashomon effect which is based off the movie. And we can "do whatever we want".
Last time I checked...
We're designers. We require limits. Limits create challenges. They create a problem to be solved. Without limits, constraints, challenges, you're basically asking for a bunch of artsy-fartsy bullshit. </mic-drop>

- I didn't know either. I've never seen the movie. I'm limited by what I saw scanning wikipedia for a few minutes. It's not that big of a deal, really.monospaced
