    Ugh... Where do I start.

    1) People who ask for free stuff, such as photography for a night of bands playing, offering only to pay for you to get into the show ($10 cover) and free drinks. They say "you can be the evening's unofficial photographer," I guess to insinuate that by not being the official photographer you shouldn't expect to get paid?

    2) People who suggest a photographer that might be into it, who's photos ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SUCK. Every single photo this guy has posted of bands is taken with a less than optimal camera setup in low light venues. Then, the photos are manipulated so disgustingly in Photoshop or Paint: contrast to 100%, colors cranked in all the wrong directions, saturation at 1,000%, just overall awful photos. I have to think that the photographer in question is colorblind, or partially blind.

Ask for free stuff and go with the first person who's interested and chances are you can count on the end result being garbage.

    • these are the same assholes who cants see the difference in the quality of photos you present vs the shit someone took in the dark with an iphone flash. Punch!Ramanisky2

    • The guy in question asking for this is the same one I've mentioned before who posts 75+ photos taken by his mom with his cell phone of his band's shows.mg33
    • And literally, no joke, 15 near identical photos of him at a microphone, playing guitar. No ability to edit down a set to the best ones.mg33
    • I try and use stuff like this to motivate me. He wanted to hire me once, so it got me to put together a rate sheet, service list, etc.mg33
    • I don't shoot bands that often, but the rate sheet keeps me from getting into some freebie situation that I will never have time for unlessmg33
    • it's a good friend's band and I'm shooting photos for them to have fun.mg33
    • can I ask about how much you charge this particular band for a one night live shoot ?? I assume 1-2 hours of shooting
and 2-3 hours in post ??

    • $100 an hour to shoot, minimum 1 hour. Tiers of post-processing / packages starting at $100 for limited use license, 15 edited photos.mg33
    • Package 1: Includes post-processing, and digital delivery of 15 high-resolution photos chosen by client. Limited Use License. $100mg33
    • Package 2: Includes post-processing, and digital delivery of 16-30 high-resolution photos chosen by client. Limited Use License. $200mg33
    • I also have a package with all RAW photos + unlimited use license for $1,000. I doubt anyone will ever pay that, but it basically shows the costmg33
    • if someone wants photos to do whatever they want with.mg33
    • Basically, at a minimum, I'm guaranteeing myself $200 for an hour of shooting and a couple hour's work editing and choosing 15 good photos.mg33
    • Also have terms for limited use license: among them: they can't edit, crop, manipulate photos, or remove watermark, etc.mg33
    • Shoot me an email and I'll send you the full page I've got on my site.mg33
    • sounds very fair and I've seen the pics you've posted here .. you take the the time especially in post.Ramanisky2
    • if they cant see the difference then you know ... https://m.popkey.co/…Ramanisky2
