iMac so Slow?????

    RAM+SSD, just received today a 512GB Samsung 850 Pro and 4 8GB memory modules for my gf's mid 2011 iMac, it will make a huge difference.

    Check your model to see how much RAM it can take and max it, add an SSD, if you aren't comfortable with disassembling the iMac (screen, etc) ask a friend that knows or send it to a shop.

    • I was surprised this model accepts 32GB of RAM, according to Apple it's 16GB but people discovered 4x8GB works flawlesslyernexbcn
    • heard the same. i'm running late 2009 imac. can't do that. wondering if i'll get an ssd before the whole shithouse goes up in flames. fw800 externals :(jaylarson
    • it's funny this whole convo because my wife has a 2011 iMac (i think) and it has bare minmm ram and i need to do all above to get it up to snuff againprophetone
    • can't even install el capitan on it until i up the ram it's that's bad, on my to-do listprophetone
    • even tho it's older it's a nice machine and in like mint condition so worth the upgrade imoprophetone
