Pretty sure this is a reaction to the many blessing Disney received for pairing Star Wars and Christmas together lmao.
They are already filming Ep. 8. They had plenty of time to get it done by May. Ep.7 started filming 1.5 years before its release as well.
So 8 now has 2 full years after filming... and we all know why. Im sure originally, well before 7 came out, they probably felt like the summer was fine for 8, but then 7 came out and boom! Surrounded by no movies anyone wanted to see, and it coming out so close to Christmas was a goldmine for them. They should do the Christmas thing permanently.
