People who praise their husbands on Facebook for cooking or cleaning a kitchen. Isn't this a little bit emasculating? Or is there a different word i'm looking for? Belittling?

I know someone who posts this stuff on FB about their husband all the time. It's 2015... the era of Susie Homemaker that was established by Good Housekeeping, Donna Reed Show, etc. in the 1950s is long gone.

Everybody has a role now. Men cook and clean. Women take kids to sports practice. I feel bad for this particular husband, always praised for the most basic stuff because it defies old stereotypes of what men's and women's roles are in a home. Hell, I cleaned the kitchen twice yesterday, cooked dinner, made food for my daughter. If my wife would have thanked me on social media for that I would have demanded she took it down.

    • yup. it's totally condescendingGnash
    • It's a passive aggressive way of saying she wants him to do more chores.i_monk
    • how many posts does she put up about this? is it all the time? how would she feel if he posted "wife blew me tonight. 7/10"sarahfailin
    • It's pretty frequent. With hashtags like #spoilsme and "ivetrainedhimwell" it makes me so grossed out.mg33
