  The most reasonable concern of the article I think is that this kind of hyper-sensitivity to difficult subject matter results in a kind of self censorship, disabling us from actually processing the offenses of the past and or present.

  Unfortunately (though there is controversy among resistance leaders on this topic) the oppressed must still have sympathy for their oppressors, and they must have some amount of patience to help them overcome the mentality that keeps both of them mired in injustice.

  An open dialog is necessary, and that means tolerating mild offenses as we together struggle to empathize with one another.
