The much heralded Apple Watch, the tech giant's first new product category since the launch of the iPad, will go to market this year with a battery life that could be as low as 2.5 hours for active use, according to a report in 9to5mac.

That battery duration—2.5 to 4 hours—applies to the most active use of the watch. For more passive use, battery life could be as long as several days before it needs recharging.

    • isn't this what was expected? Seems like common sense - small battery = short lifeformed
    • plus, you use the watch for about 10-30 seconds at a time. The rest of the time it's passive.monospaced
    • For occasional glances, you can have hundreds of uses during the day without running out of battery.monospaced
    • the point is: you have to think about the batterycannonball1978
    • somebody will come up with a better extension that will make it look like this https://psychopandas…yurimon
    • It'll be an issue with all wearables. You want all that fancy screen stuff, it's gonna suck the life out. I don't see the point it being black 99% of the time.formed
    • point in it being black 99% of the time, but that's me.formed
    • battery life is the main reason most people won't get one of these, and the reason I have no interestmonospaced
    • ALSO, only low use can last up to 4 days. Apparently. But it's always much more fun to take stabs at Apple.inteliboy
    • jesus - you guys considering getting one? This will be Apple's google glass.fadein11
    • it won't be it's Glass for many reasons: a) it's shipping, b) millions will buy, c) developers are making apps alreadymonospaced
