Anyone remember years and years ago before Getty bought iStock. It was such an awesome resource then. I'm surprised that so many of you still use it, I walked away years ago.

    • Actually years and years ago it had a lot of shit pics. But it was okay because they were cheap and gems could be found.ETM
    • Absolutely true. But I remember a time when the quality had improved significantly, but the prices remained low.noneck
    • Then I started seeing shows like Oprah listing iStock in the closing credits, and I new the site was going to be fucked.noneck
    • Very true. When Getty first got them, quality also increased and prices only slightly... but they couldn't stop themselves.ETM
    • It seemed to creep a little every 3 months until we are where we are today. $50 if you want a little web thumbnail.ETM
    • Oh well, the cycle of everything. Underdog becomes leader, find a new underdog.ETM
    • Getty claims they couldn;t sustain the model, yet it worked for iStock to the tune of a $50mil sale to Getty.ETM
    • So, are they liars, or was their due diligence terrible during the purchase?ETM
