Well I have the 70-200 on a full frame censor.. and its not quite as much of a specialized telephoto lens as i thought it was going to be. in fact at 70mm it almost feels like a prime 50. So the 24-70 should be a pretty versatile shooter and the better lens to start with.... and then the 70-200 will be a good upgrade later when you want something with a bit more distance.
