Yeah I agree that this is what Comcast/Verizon/AT&T want. They were the ones bringing the lawsuit, and they won in court today. Net neutrality is dead now thanks to this ruling - no legislation required.

P2P internet...haven't heard much about that. Is it something that is feasible on a wide scale or just an idea at this point?

    • Its what alot of the undisclosed and darknet stuff runs on. So i can build a server in my house with content on it, and give you the direct secure IP to it. Then i can provide a means for you to access it, via router. No giant ISP required

    • But I've used darknet...through my existing ISP. It doesn't normally circumvent that process does it?ukit2
    • You would need a chain of wifi connections everywhere all using the same protocol I guessukit2
    • P2P still requires a backbone, which right now is the internet in question.404NotFound
    • You'd have to build a separate infrastructure, but can't because of regulation.404NotFound
