    because Apple explicitly coded that content should be displayed at the same size on screen, they are purposedly zooming every image to 200% so that you can see what everyone sees. but the chrome and type render super crisp, because they're created specifically for retina.
    anything that can't scale will look more pixelated in a retina screen than in normal one, because they're side by side with crisp content, thus looking shitty, but they are actually like you would see them if on a screen with that resolution. If you want to see things like before, attach a second regular monitor. There is no other solution because there is no problem.
