    I think their goal is not for final image size but for zooming. Most phone cameras simply crop in on an image to 'zoom' rather than doing the proper lens adjustments. With 41MP to work with, you can crop in 4x and still end up with 5MP worth of pixels.

    I haven't used it though, just guessing.

    • @akiersky, that's actually what it does. It keeps the original but automatically generates a 5mp version, as well.ETM
