    Fuck insurance.
How can insurance companies make money if the total they get in premiums doesn't exceed the amount they pay out ?
It's no different to a casino - you gamble that you'll need the expensive services, ie get ill, they're gambling that you won't. The money they charge is weighted so that they'll 'win' at the end of the year.
It's the most evil monumental scam. Put your money aside each month into a fund. You should be fine. If you're not, and have massively expensive costs, like cancer or a huge car accident, then you're going to be bankrupt anyway. Declare yourself, and move on. Refuse to be part of the problem of skyrocketing insurance and medical costs.

    • If you have a week in hospital, that's about $20k, which is about 3 years of premiums. Most people will not need it.mikotondria3
    • exactly, that's why it's called "insurance" dudersmonospaced
    • It's ok, I know how it works, it just makes me mad that they cream off a profit between people and their healthcare.mikotondria3
    • and at the same time they allow people to pay for care that they normally woudln't be able to affordmonospaced
    • True of course. I just prefer the European model of universal coverage. I think it's unethical to profit from paying for healthcare.mikotondria3
    • not profit from healthcare itself, just the paying for it..mikotondria3
