One can never fully explain or impart the depth and breadth of joy of mdma and dancing to fantastic dark twisted music - the weightless, boundless oneness and joy, has to be top of the list of sensual experiences, leagues above any sex or booze. In the shortest term, spontaneous hilarity with close friends can be the most intense.
But nothing compares to the long-wave returns of loving a child and investing oneself in their growth and well-being. It's beyond any temporal joy or happiness - a lot of the time it's just effing relentless hard work. There's nothing like it, nothing that could take its place; it's like climbing a mountain for someone else, carrying their bags on your bag, in the rain, with the sense of accomplishment at arm's reach as you get higher and higher, and every now and again you come to a viewpoint and you can see for miles and it all makes sense, and you can see the work you've done for you to all reach this height and these happy moments you'd give your life and all in it for, without a moment's hesistance, they are your life, more than you ever thought it could be.
