My missus and I still managed to have a shit-faced night each, about once a month or so. Not often together... we arrange nights out with friends and arrange that the other one will take care of stuff in the morning, so we each get a night out, unlimited drinking/ deadline, plus the ability to suffer dull agony in a sweaty bed until midday on Saturday/Sunday. We even provide each other with cups of tea, coffee, toast, salty snacks, sandwiches and pain relief.
It works well. In all honesty once a month is about all I can personally manage these days. The only thing I ever have on my mind for about three weeks after a night out is 'I'm never ever doing that again'.
