I "sweet talked" them. Gave them my points on the reasons for the clauses (strongly), but letting them have the floor as well. I chose not to create too much "noise" on not showing my work for them in Annuals, which was kind of a bummer. And yeah... the work may loose its soul because of that, but maybe I should show that work in PDF's to clients? Not sure.
I took a stand on the cancellation clause, payment clause (5% late fee, which is reasonable right?... fuck, should be higher) which I think they knew was in my right in the first place... they fought a little but as soon as I gave them A financial scenario (a for example, that showed a bit of humanness, they said "ok, it makes sense")
I gave them the floor to explain to me their process (of paying freelancers-- but made them understand that it wasn't about them, I just need to cover myself because I have no "legal department.")
Thanks for your thoughts guys, certainly brought your points into the room.
long live qbn, ha!
