    You're correct in that the initial investment is going to pay for tooling. We did look into a short-run option but found the quality to be sub-par. It also didn't afford us any embellisments. The only issue with color is having a minimum part-count from the manufacturer, which we think we will easily fulfill.

    In the lifecycle of the magsafe adapters the design has changed very little in almost a decade. We've done our homework and are working off the assumption that in the next few design iterations very little will change still. And the issue *is* fairly common.
