i get these from time to time, and it's the inability to do something that generally freaks you out....it's like you know something horrible is waiting to happen, but you're physically unable to move...which of course is what causes the terror...

much more often for me is the lucid dreaming. I get that about every 2 weeks or so...fairly regularly...
the idea being that you suddenly know that you're in a dream...like waking up while still dreaming....i can't even describe how freaking awesome it is when this happens. talk about a holiday from reality. generally what i tend to do is fly....like you suddenly know you can basically do what you want, so 'ok..super powers!..lets fly!'...and up up and away i go.....zooming around etc...

the one downside i find is that it doesn't tend to last very long....you usually get to have some fun, then something really does wake you up....but on most of those nights that i lucid dream, i've had the luck to fall back asleep and 'reclaim' the lucid dream...sometimes several times......
never happens to normal good dreams, like say, making out with some hot model type, or winning the lottery or something like that...wake up from an awesome dream like that, and you can never seem to get it back....but the lucid dreams ones.....for whatever reason, more often than not, i can just get back to sleep and turn it back on....

although it happens a fair bit, it'd be nice if i understood exactly 'how' and why it happens....just to be able to do it at will.....

    • I get lucid dreams from time to time as well. I love it when that happens. That being said, it usually happens during a stressful dream andtheredmasque
    • ... usually happens in a stressful type dream and then I can re-write the scenario and make it better.theredmasque
