I personally do not like the MPD series, if you are going to just get a drum controller get the Korg padKONTROL, best value for the price IMO. There are several stories about pad insensitivity on the MPDs, as well as hacks/fixes to regain that sensitivity. So far as there is a guy selling thin strips of plastic to put into your MPD between the pads and the sensors to prevent them from sticking. I read this story a lot before I bought my padKONTROL and never had the sensitivity issues, though I ended up exchanging the padKONTROL for the Maschine Mikro.
