my setup/workflow is almost completely audio-based. i started out in cubase, then moved to sony acid pro when version 6 was launched. i've used ableton, but prefer to stick with what i know. i can use acid pro with my eyes closed.
acid pro and sony soundforge forms the basis of my setup, along with turntables, a big ass record collection (been collecting and sampling for over 15 years), my own sample library, keyboard controller and a few vst synths and effects. i arrange/compose in audio (also bounce my midi tracks down to audio).
