I was thinking about this recently in relation to the most expensive photo ever sold: http://www.npr.org/blogs/picture…
I read somewhere else that it was shot on film.
I guess to me film has a quality that can elevate a photo to "artwork" more easily than digital. But I think much of that comes from the fact that it forces you to slow down and really consider composition before pushing the shutter button. Having a physical, tangible final product is nice too, of course.
I haven't shot film in almost 10 years either, and while I think it'd be fun to do I'm a sucker for what's easiest.
