Check out the 3 Jeph Loeb graphic novels.
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Haunted KnightAs other mentioned, also Killing Joke, although I didnt love this one. Dark Knight Returns and Year One have a lot in them from the movies, although the artwork sucks. It's very dated, good stories though.
My favorite batman graphic novel, although the movies didnt take too much from it, is HUSH. The artwork is the best of all batman comics.
Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth has great artwork too, and good story, and is one of the most popular graphic novels of all time.
http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Arkā¦You can find all of these on amazon for cheap.
