I did some more back-end work and fixed up the users list. Now you should see *everyone* in the chat room, even lurkers who have never posted anything. (If they haven't entered a username they'll probably show up as "anonymous" but you might also see some "lurker" names.)
And now when you close the chat window your name will drop off the list within about 20 seconds. (I think I can reduce this to about 6 seconds with the proper testing... I just want to avoid usernames for people with slow connections flickering on and off.)
Don't forget you can uncheck "auto-refresh" and "force scroll to bottom" as you see fit. (For instance, if you want to scroll up to the top and read earlier parts of the conversation.)
