Well you don't really stand non-stop.. it's about being mobile, less hunched over for 12-15 hours a day when coding.
You sit on a bar stool and work.. Something like Starbucks when you sit on those tall tables.
Just takes getting used to. My legs hurt like hell right now because I've been so used to sitting all day but I have to say that when they don't hurt I feel much better standing up and working.
But after a week I expect it to be much better.
The guy from 37 signals did it a while back as this trend has been picking for a few years now.
Btw, let's go.. post some good mid-priced adjustable standing desks or workstations.
