The idea of venom doesnt make sense either. Nolan's films strictly rule out anything supernatural. That's the entire point of his batman movies, there's basically nothing in them that couldnt happen in real life, to some extent.
He's said a few times these films are a standalone thing, he isnt concerned about what happens after them. He wanted to make this movie to finish his story and end it so that they couldnt be picked up by someone else and turned into something awful, like what happened with Burton's movies.
I really have a feeling that pit is something that will make realistic sense, and not anything to do with venom or a lazarus pit. Its something else, im almost certain of it.
