d_rek I understand what you are saying...
I guess what I meant was I usually need to use the System Settings Advanced calibration to set up external monitors. I find that setting the color temp. to d50 and sometimes reducing the screen brightness as low as 50% out of the box helps a lot. Most monitors come out of the box with the brightness/sharpness jacked all the way up to impress the consumer- too much detail is lost.
This is my first notebook and I'm wondering how the process compares to setting up an external monitor.
I don't expect colors to be accurate at all
