Heh, to think that a monitor could 'calibrate' itself is sort of funny.
If you're just doing web-based output, just use the default Mac profile and make sure brightness is 100%.
If you're doing print-based use a calibration device. It will get you color closer that matches 4CP/Spot color out. But really, don't rely on what you see on screen for print.
