The little ROM chip which normally works as a controller for a standard USB stick, will have been flashed to appear as a CD drive to your computer. That's the problem.
You'd probably have to know the manufacturer of the original USB thumb drive and flash it with their firmware. It's unlikely you could find a copy of the original firmware though, most usb drives don't get updated.
- So the lowdown is, as far as your computer is concerned, it really is a CD being plugged in.kalkal
