    Plash, I can understand that they were going for a price conscious consumer. That is why they should have repositioned the brand. Changed the voice of it. But not change the entire thing except the name. This is a hot mess, and worse yet the loyal customers that they had believed in that brand and it was an icon that was representative of something proud to own. Gap clothes weren't necessarily cheap, this logo looks and feels cheap. This logo feels outlet bargain bin cheap, how would this help move clothing in-store in-mall. I don't see it. I see this strategically as a mess because they were betting on their brands strength. But I'd agree with you they needed to update their brand not change everything except the name itself.
