I've been wearing chucks since the early 80's. After getting older, less alternative, and actually being able to afford a pair of proper trainers I don't know how I ever wore them. They're flat, narrow, and are always a size too big.
That said I've been buying john varvatos converse and they're a totally different shoe. He only adds a little flare and a lot of padding. Sure they're 3xs more expensive but they are 3xs more comfortable!
