I've been wearing Chuck Taylor Converse for a long time now. Have always found them nice and comfy.
The last pair I bought about a month ago are just shit. Doesn't feel like there's any padding under my foot.
Anyone else notice them going downhill or did I just score a dud pair?

i dunno what kind they are, but my girl got me a pair of insoles that've been working for me. i think chucks just generally are made of thin/cheap stuff

I love the playful style of the converse, but they seem a bit cheap looking to me. I do like the older Jcrew versions though.

I've been wearing chucks since the early 80's. After getting older, less alternative, and actually being able to afford a pair of proper trainers I don't know how I ever wore them. They're flat, narrow, and are always a size too big.
That said I've been buying john varvatos converse and they're a totally different shoe. He only adds a little flare and a lot of padding. Sure they're 3xs more expensive but they are 3xs more comfortable!I have all three of these
