OK to buy iMac?

In 1998 I was at a training seminar at Apple.... the instructor jokingly asked us how many of us were waiting for the "next big apple thing" before we bought another Mac, we laughed, he groaned, and he told us the story of the Osborne Two.
The Osborne One was a "portable" computer with a TINY screen and two 5 1/4 inch floppies running CP/M from the 80's. Mr Osborne was the head of his own startup company, he showed it to lots of trade shows, everyone asked about the small screen and he talked about how great the Osborne Two would be, with a bigger screen, etc....
Nobody bought the Osborne One, so there was no Osborne Two.... which was what the Apple guy was trying to hint at for us during the dark days of Apple in 1998....
Apple is stable, but hey, there's ALWAYS something around the corner, but just think of how much cool work you WOULD NOT get done while you wait, you can always buy and sell if you want....
