Like others have said .. don't switch it on. Don't use salt - will lead to corrosion.
Water shouldn't be too much of a problem, as long as you give it enough time to evaporate.
The danger with switching it on while it's wet, is that water is a conductor, and can short some of the smaller circuits in the camera. If shorting occurs, some of the small components can easily be blown - leading to circuit failure.
Possibly take it apart (sensibly though; so you're still able to put it back together) - and let it dry naturally somewhere warm (like an airing cupboard).
