personally i've always believed collecting (packratting) to be quite a quirky personality trait, we all seem to do it, it just depends what, some people enjoy being collectors while other don't see themselves as one but have an affinity towards something but just don't realize it. from bedroom to garage to office, magnets, mugs, pens, toys, pipes, containers, cars, bikes, skateboards, companies, cans, yo-yo, etc etc... i think it's a sign of our junk and maybe our internal need to associate personal belongings to our personality somehow either through size or intricacy of collection be it a conscious decision or not.
