    both systems have virtually identical game libraries with a few system exclusives, so that's really not an issues.

    I think an xbox360 is probably the wiser investment right now—especially for the online—unless you have a want and/or need for blu-ray on the ps3 which does come with a heftier pricetag.

    So practically speaking:
    xbox360 = online juggernaut
    ps3 = multimedia outlet not totally devoid of online capabilities
