I would look at which lenses you have or are going to use with it. Its not really about IQ as both cams are excellent in this regard but wether you are going to be using Canons L lenses or EFS lenses.

EFS lenses have better suited focal lengths for the 7D but if you upgrade to a FF body later you are going to have to buy lenses all over again. If you just buy L lenses for your 7D then you are going to miss out a fair bit on the wide end but will be ok with the larger zooms.

If you use the EF 17-40mm L or EF 16-35mm L on the 7D you wont find them wide enough and you are better off with a EFS 10-22mm.

EF 24-70mm L and EF 24-105mm L not quite versatile enough on crop body as its not wide enough to get a lot of shots. Better off with a EFS 17-55mm IS with the 7D. 24mm is wider on 5D than 17mm on 7D. Thats why 24-70 is such a handy lens on 5D.

50mm on 5D is great but bit long most of the time on a crop body. You would be better with a 35mm.

85mm is great on both crop and FF for portraits etc. Same goes with 135mm L.

70-200 is ok a zoom on both but sometimes a bit long for portraits on crop body.

Thats just my experience as I had a 30D and chose to buy L lenses. I decided it would be better to go to a 5D than to start buying EFS lenses to fill the gaps.
