if you are experiencing a budget crunch, morilla, do you think the extra $900 that the 5d mkii will cost you will be worth it?
if you are not publishing your work in print or reproducing in large, large sizes, the 7d sounds like the better bet. and really - if you pixel-peep the 7d sample images, its 18 megapixels are pretty good. not sure that the 21 slightly higher pitch megapixels of the 5d mkii will make that much of a difference for you.
