I got my 5DMII only a few months ago and news of this didn't bother me because of the crop sensor. Remember you will always have the multiplier 1.6 factor for your lenses. 15mm = 24mm and so on.
I am happy with the 5DMII regardless if they came out with the full frame one. I think they will have the firmware update shortly to shoot in 24p soon. If not, I have found a rather easy work around that works just as good.
It's not about the latest and greatest, it's what you do with it that matters.
