I think it helps to make the distinction between actors and "stars" (whatever that term means). Real actors (people like Daniel Day Lewis, Ralph Fiennes, William Masey, and so on) don't really seek the limelight, in fact you don't see them outside of their work that much at all. They are probably closer to real artists and are driven by something far more internal.
People who want to be stars are the ones playing grab ass on stage and claiming ownership of Michael Jackson, putting out R&B albums, and all that shit.
