Don't let printing compatibilities compromise your design.
Get your printer to run off a ripped proof... if it looks ok, then so should your final print run. If it looks different to what you intended, let them know and tell them to sort it out or else you will go elsewhere.
...don't take any bullshit from printers about any indesign issues. Whenever they mention this it's usually 'cos their own software isn't up to date!
