aww man - what a mess - every hour of passing news on this just gets worse... found out today a client of ours passed away while visiting the area at the weekend...
with regards to the ferocity of these fires, at its height a 20m high wall of fire can travel at 2m per second spreading its embers even further. but then any wind change - and fires such as this cause their own wind - it can change direction in a heartbeat. you literally have nowhere to run - just pure luck to get out of it...
hell on earth.
