A few things come to my mind and they are all really connnected....

Less content - Which equals more space for bigger and easier to see/read graphics and type.

Better usability - Plays off the first point, less clutter, simple, elegant, and easy to use pages. Less is more, to use that cliche but true statment.

I think we are also slowly seeing what was being talked about years ago, that is essentially web applications. The computer may one day just act like a dumb terminal where all applications are simply pulled or leased from the internet. This allows a user to login from anywhere on any computer and basically have access to everything they need. Mkes perfect sense for most things.

I work for a publishing company and we are already seeking ways to utilize web applications for our material. Where people have a login and can access everything they need without owning a book.

Also new media types will no doubt be thrown into the mix, The iPhone is a perfect example of a semi-new platform that Web Designers will probably become familiar with as they grow exponentially in popularity and spawn other types of similar devices.

    • Sorry, I don't see this happeningAnders
    • ie. less content + better usability, but I'm with ya..Anders

    • I believe the next generation of windows s going to function that way. Just pullings apps from the web.andrewwwahlin
    • less content is a good point, most people simply don't read large chunks of text online. People need to be clever, copywriters will be used more hopefully.kev_charlton
