Glitterati_Duane I don't need to get into an argument, but you have to agree that there are some key fundamental differences between original hip hop as it began with crews like Cold Crush/Furious Five/GetFresh/etc. And the shit that's on the radio today called hip hop. Compare groups like J5 & Quannum or individuals like MC Abdominal, Roots Manuva, Etc and you get a much closer association to the old school - at least in the way that these emcees are *originating*.
There is a distinction between rap and hip hop -- i've been on sites / been to stores with both categories and I always go for "hip hop".
Not trying to be close minded... Perhaps you have a better name for shitty commercial rap?
