    Hi,

    We get this error in the office all the time. It's nothing to worry about, just means your finder preferences are corrupt.
    All you need to do is reboot your mac while holding down the "shift" key.
    1. Then once your desktop loads, goto your home folder, Library, preferences then
    2. remove the "com.apple.finder.plist" file.
    3. Restart your Mac.

    This does rest all your icon sizes and such like, but it's better than not having a system to work with.
