sureshot,
from my experience putting the ball in her court never really ever works out for me. although in this situation I thought about going along the lines of "originally I hung out with you because you seemed cool, were new to town, and I could use another friend, etc. but you ended up being cooler than I thought blah blah blah.... I'd hate to make it weird with work and everything but this it's how I feel... etc"
