having lived on the full gambit of sailboats and powerboats here is what I realistically recommend.
Sailboat 40' plus. The size if more of a safety thing than anything else, it makes a HUGE difference offshore and in distance you can cover. I love multi-masted sailboats as well, it's kindof like an emergency backup and stability in big air is unmatched.
Other than that... there is nothing like getting from point a to point b without a drop of gas... and if you're in San Diego or LA let me know and we'll do a QBN booze cruise.
