The whole PNG issue fucks me off - I remember getting excited about them as a replacement for GIFs back around 1999. What fucking year is it now? 2008. Fucking 2008 and we're still having quibbles in supporting a fairly basic graphics implementation.

What's happened in the meantime? We've seen the rise and fall and rise again of push/pull technologies, the utter acceptance of CSS (table bodges or no) 6 (is it?) Flash updates, each with increasingly sophisticated potential, the fall of VRML, the quivering ascendance of SVG, the utter prelavance of XML, JS/'web2.0' and mass-democratisation of dynamic languages like PHP/MySQL - yet we're still having problems with a fucking proper Alpha channel in a fucking little graphic.

Fuck IEs 5.5 & 6, really. Christ - Microsoft have been pushing for those versions decline with enforced security updates, so how the on Earth there are still people out there with pre IE7 versions, I just don't know.

    Nnnngh.
