I really doubt there'll be a revised hardware model as early as this year or even next. The PS3 is pretty much future proof as far as firmware goes so there's not really any need. Firmware 2.20 is due before the end of this month then two more (2.30 and 2.40) by mid-summer with in-game messaging and Blu-ray 2.0.
Plus, GTA IV comes out in April, can't miss that. I say go for it!

- More about production costs than software revision, I think. As I said, I don't know - there's just lots of rumour going arounddetritus
