Seriously though, there's no hope of ever moving on from racism. It can't even be discussed without unconcious desires to subjectively position oneself in relation to the issue, or to exorcise some vaguely tourettian impulse, and its only a matter of time before the rights of gay people are brought along, followed by the rights of every other social ghetto dweller. The issue of racism is the issue of racism. It has nothing, nothing at all to do with the issue of sexual discrimination, physical discrimination, religious discrimination or any other discrimination... its race discrimination and it has its own very unique facets that have no correlation whatsoever to sexual polarity or anything else. The only place that these things can sit together is the overarching discussion about humankind's innate mistrust. The issue of racism will never be resolved by failing to address the actual phenomenon and diffusing discourse thinly across other forms of discrimination.
